Ashot Manukyan has discussed cooperation in mining industry in Australia

RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan met with State Minister of Natural Resources and Treasurer Tim Pallas today at the invitation of the Government of Victoria, Australia, to take part in the annual International Conference on Mining and Natural Resources in Melbourne. The parties discussed the development of Armenia's subsurface legislation and possible cooperation in the mining sector. The sides touched upon the industry's regulatory standards, geological aspects and practical issues of exploitation of the entrails in the context of the "fundamental principles of responsible land use".

Ashot Manukyan presented the innovations implemented in our country in the field of subsurface use, in particular the necessity of the mine discharge project and the appropriate financial guarantees, which are the conditions for the granting of mining licenses. The efforts of the Armenian government on the process of Armenia's accession to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and the Armenian Geological Fund's archive digitization and access to information were also discussed.

Within the framework of the forum, Ashot Manukyan had meetings with Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Mehdi Karbassian, Executive Director of GFG Alliance International Corporation Sandeev Gupta.
