The Minister Visited the "Yerevan TPP" CJSC

 

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan visited the "Yerevan Thermal Power Plant" CJSC.

 

The Minister has got acquainted with the employees of the company and has a talk with them, also toured the Thermal Plant area. Yervand Zakharyan at first toured the ''Yerevan Thermal Power Plant'' JSC's old unit, watched the technical state of inactive workstation of the thermal plant.

 

The director of plant Hovakim Hovhannisyan introduced to the Minister the technical capabilities of the old station, the expediency of keeping conserved and to operate on the basis of water – coal fuel in future.

 

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan has got acquainted also with the operation and maintenance conditions of new Combined-Cycle Power Plant of Yerervan.

 

The director of YCCPP informed, that the plant was completed in 2010, it was built by the Japan Bank loan program for International cooperation.

 

The electrical installed capacity of the Power Plant is 242 MW, and the thermal capacity of the Power Plant is 434,9 GJ/h. In comparison with the other power plants of Armenia, the new Power Plant is spending 2,0-2,3 times less fuel (natural gas) per one  KW/h. As well as, in the case of the same installed capacities the new Power Plant has lesser exhaustions than the other thermal power plants.

 

The YCCPP gas turbine and auxiliaries are Alstom Company’s production, and the steam turbine and auxiliaries are the Fuji Company’s production.

 

According to the Director of plant, due to the owing of the  electric system of new Combined-Cycle Power Plant,  it was increased the reliability of the electricity system and the optimality of the power flaws, as well as the energy loss has been reduced in the electricity networks.

 

Hovakim Hovhannisyan also informed the Minister, that capital repair works will be implemented in YCCPP this year. He introduced to the Minister the second Combined Cycle Plant building program details planned in the area of Thermal Power Plant.
