The Minister has Hosted the Czech Delegation

  On February 12, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan met with the members of delegation of the Czech Republic headed by the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Yan Mladek in the framework of the Armenian-Czech business forum.
During the meeting they discussed the current state of cooperation and development opportunities between the two countries.

Welcoming the guests, Yervand Zakharyan presented the structure and the ways of development of the energy system of Armenia. Speaking about the projects implemented in the atomic energy sector, the Minister mentioned, that efforts are underway to the direction of extending of date of the operating nuclear power plant unit until 2027.

Тhe loan and grant funds are involved in from the Russian Federation for this purpose. In parallel, Armenia is going to build a new nuclear power generating unit of 600 MW up to 2027.

It is expected the construction of two new thermal plants in Yerevan and Vanadzor.

Within the framework of the long term up to 2036 strategic plan of the energy system adopted in the end of the last year, is intended to increase the energy capacities of the renewable energy sphere.

Ye. Zakharyan expressed willingness to contribute to the development of the Armenian-Czech business relations, both in energy and mineral resources spheres.

    Expressing gratitude for the meeting, the head of the Czech delegation Yan Mladek presented the current state and prospects of development of the energy system of the Czech Republic, spoke about the possibilities of cooperation in the energy sector.

    The Armenian - Czech cooperation in the energy sector is succesfully proceeding especially in the field of the atomic energy.

The sides expressed hope that it will be continued in future. It was decided to create a working group to expand the Armenian - Czech cooperation in the energy sector and to discuss the new opportunities for implementation of joint projects.
